The Blues have rung through the changes from the Newcastle defeat.
After losing 1-2 to FC Basel in their Champions League opener, Chelsea have been in fine form in the competition and face Schalke 04 at Stamford Bridge in their fourth match.
A fortnight ago in Germany the Blues strolled to a 0-3 victory with a brace from Fernando Torres, although the Spaniard has been left out of this clash to be replaced by Samuel Eto’o.
In fact manager Jose Mourinho has made several changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend, with Andre Schurrle and Willian also given places.

Despite having beaten Schalke last time out the west London club should not take a team packed full of talent for granted.
Particular care should be given to German starlet Julian Draxler, who will be playing on the left wing and former Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng.

If Mourinho’s men can win this tie then they will have one foot in the last-16, especially knowing that very winnable ties against Steaua Bucharest and Basel remain.
