Carneiro has reportedly been the subject to some inappropriate chants from fans, with Manchester United and Manchester City supporters the ones under investigation in particular.
A club spokesman is quoted as saying: “The issue of equality is one we take extremely seriously and we abhor discrimination in all its forms, including sexism. Such behaviour is unacceptable and we want it eradicated from the game.”
