The 27-year-old Uruguayan has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of this season, while Manchester United and Real Madrid are both thought to be tracking Cavani.
The powerful forward has scored 21 goals in all competitions since joining PSG in a €60m deal from Napoli and, ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League visit to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, has revealed the Blues were also keen on his services last summer.
“Chelsea was very attracted to me last summer, but what is really important in their transfers? PSG showed real trust and real determination to include me in their project. When you pay such transfer fee, that is a proof you really want the player.”
When asked about reports Chelsea and Man United had already opened talks with his representatives, Cavani replied: “Frankly I don’t know. Nowadays, my family is with me in Paris and if something should happen, my brother will manage it and will sit on a table with any clubs’ officials.”
