Monaco goalkeeper Subasic confident the Colombian will sign for the club.
AS Monaco goalkeeper Danijel Subasic reveals that a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao is 90% completed, much to the disappointment of Chelsea.
The club have been strongly linked with Falcao since their promotion back to Ligue 1 and with billionaire Russian owner Dmitry Rybolovlev prepared to spend big this summer, it looks like the Colombian is on his way.
Subasic was part of the side that helped Monaco get back to the top flight in France and the ‘keeper believes Falcao will be playing in the Principality next season.
“I’ll tell you what I heard: Falcao is already 90 per cent Monegasque!” the Croatian was quoted on Sky Sports.
“He will appear in Monte Carlo in a few days and officially become our player.
“That’s what they told us, with the only doubt being that he could sign for Real Madrid, which at the moment does not look likely.”
Falcao is the third top scorer in La Liga this season with 28 strikes, only behind the ever-prolific Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 27-year-old joined Atleti from FC Porto for a Portuguese record transfer fee of £34.7million in 2011 and has netted 70 goals for the Spanish club in his two seasons, including two in last year’s Europa League final success.
The Colombia international had been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu but it’s thought his respect for his current club – Madrid’s great city rivals – means he would prefer to move away from Spain.
From what is said by Monaco’s Subasic, this major transfer deal is as good as done.
