Nathaniel Chalobah could join Crystal Palace on loan after signing a new five year contract at Stamford Bridge…
Chelsea’s impressive English youth international Nathaniel Chalobah could join newly promoted Premier League side Crystal Palace on loan, reports the Daily Mail.
Chalobah can play in holding midfield or as a central defender, but is way down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, with Jose Mourinho traditionally favouring experienced players.
The England prospect signed a five year contract at Chelsea last week, but is unlikely to get any first-team football this season, with the likes of David Luiz, Gary Cahill and John Terry ahead of him in defence, and Jon Obi Mikel and Ramires already fighting the anchorman spot.
Chalobah impressed on loan at Watford last season, and Palace boss Ian Holloway believes the Chelsea talent will help his side’s relegation battle this term.
He hopes Palace’s recent record in developing young talent will tempt Chalobah to spend a season at Selhurst Park. Wilfried Zaha, Nathaniel Clyne and Victor Moses all graduated from Palace’s academy in recent years.
