Belgium has still to pull on the Chelsea jersey though.
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is currently the best shot stopper in the world, according to former Glasgow Rangers and PSV Eindhoven keeper Ronald Waterreus, reports the Daily Mirror.
The hugely-talented young Belgium international has been at Stamford Bridge for two years now, having signed for the west London club from Belgium outfit Genk on a five-year deal in July 2011.
However, in the intervening two-year period the 21-year-old has still to make a single competitive appearance for the Blues, having spent the past two seasons out on loan with Liga giants Atletico de Madrid, where Courtois has proved himself to be without doubt one of the best keepers in the world.
Courtois has made 73 Liga appearances and 95 in all competitions during his stay at the Vincente Calderon, during which time the player has won the Uefa Europa League, the Uefa Super Cup and this season’s Copa del Rey.
And, according to Waterreus:”Thibaut Courtois is the best and he is only 21 years old.”
