Aston Villa to rival the Hammers for Atsu.
Chelsea youngster Christian Atsu, who is fresh from a loan spell away at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, could be out on another loan spell this season, but this time within the Premier League, reports the Daily Mail.
The 22-year old midfielder featured for Ghana at this year’s World Cup, and is now wanted by Hammers’ boss Sam Allardyce on-loan.
Allardyce is hoping to improve his side’s style of play next season, and wants to sign quality players to help him achieve the desired results.
Although Chelsea might welcome the idea of loaning out their signing from FC Porto within the Premier League, the Hammers might not have it easy in Atsu’s pursuit as fellow Premier League side Aston Villa, who loaned Blues left-back Ryan Bertrand this January, are also vying for the midfielder’s services.
Jose Mourinho meanwhile, has an abundance of resources in his midfield at the moment and there looks to be little place for young players like Atsu, who could have no option but to impress his manager with loan performances.
