Hulk drops a bombshell about potential Stamford Bridge switch.
Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk has added evidence to the speculation he will be joining Chelsea this summer for £35m, by admitting the deal is a possibility.
The powerful Brazilian is currently on duty with the national squad as they prepare for an international match against France on Sunday.
Yet despite initial links between the Blues and Hulk being rubbished the 26-year-old has reignited the rumours.
“If I said there was not anything in it, I would be lying,” the Brazil international told Globo Esporte.
“But that is not for now. I am 100 per cent focused on the national team at the moment.”
New manager at Stamford Bridge Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his squad after returning to Chelsea after a six year absence.
Whilst the west London club have strong attacking midfielders in Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Oscar, the strike force of Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Romelu Lukaku are likely to be added to – especially with Torres and Lukaku being linked with moves away.
Although Hulk is not considered an out-and-out striker the Brazilian’s versatility in the final third of the pitch make him an attractive prospect for Mourinho.
The forward has drawn the interest of Chelsea several times in the past, including last summer before Hulk eventually made the £48.4m move to Zenit from FC Porto.
However, whilst the Blues are lining up a £35m bid it’s likely the Russian club will want nearer to the fee they paid for explosive striker.
Hulk scored 11 goals for Zenit in his first season at the club, as they finished second in the league and he also provided nine assists.
The forward has also earned 21 caps for Brazil, netting six times and would link up with national teammates David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar if he made the move to the Bridge.
