Ronaldo has also been linked with a move back to his former hunting ground at Old Trafford, as rumours of him being unsettled at the Bernabeu persist, but the Blues look set to challenge Louis van Gaal and the Red Devils for the signature of potentially the world’s finest player.
With Real also rumoured to be set to line up Chelsea’s exciting Belgian winger Eden Hazard to replace Ronaldo and to help the Blues finance the move, they may not play in the same team, but Chelsea’s potential XI next season is still looking pretty tasty:
Goalkeeper and Defence
Chelsea fans have already received one huge boost this week, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois having signed a new deal that will keep him as the club’s long term man between the sticks. Otherwise, they look settled, with John Terry still likely to be a regular alongside Gary Cahill and Cesar Azplicueta, Branislav Ivanovic and Filipe Luis fighting it out for two full back berths.
