Werder Bremen interested in re-signing the Belgian prodigy…
Kevin De Bruyne’s short stay at Chelsea could end as soon as the January transfer window opens, reports the Daily Mail.
Bundesliga club Werder Bremen are very interested in securing a deal for the attacker as soon as possible. De Bruyne spent last year on loan at Werder Bremen, and performed excellently, registering 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho left the 22-year-old out of his squad that travelled to Romania for the 4-0 Champions League thrashing of Steaua Bucharest, and has only selected him twice in the Premier League.
Bremen general manager Thomas Eichin told the German publication Bild that his club would be delighted top have De Bruyne back if he were available.
“Should Kevin be unhappy, we are an eager first contact,” said De Bruyne’s former boss.
“I am in contact with his agent and am informed about Kevin’s situation at Chelsea. I know Kevin, if he doesn’t play it is certainly a big problem for him.”
While Chelsea will be eager to not let the talented Belgian slip through their fingers, with the wealth of attacking midfield options they have at their disposal, it will be difficult for the club to give him the game time he feels his ability warrants.
“Let’s wait and see what happens in the winter. We will be ready, if there is a possibility, to get him,” added Eichin.
