The Belgian international has offered his backing to the Frenchman, who was signed from Queens Park Rangers last summer to act as an understudy to the main centre-forward Costa, who has been one of the signings of the season after scoring 20 goals in all competitions following his move from Atletico Madrid.
Still, Remy himself has also managed seven goals in very limited appearances, showing great accuray in his finishing whenever called upon, and scoring the winning goal in Chelsea’s last two Premier League games.
Having impressed at QPR and on loan at Newcastle United, the 28-year-old has shown his quality before, and Hazard is now suitably impressed that he will make up for Costa’s absence if the Spanish international does face a lengthy spell out of the side, the Daily Star reports.
“He can score every time when he’s on the pitch. This guy deserves to score a lot of goals,” Hazard said.
