Cameroon beat Tunisia 4-1 to secure a place in Brazil next summer.
Samuel Eto’o hasn’t enjoyed the best of starts at Chelsea since joining the club in the summer, but there is good news as the striker’s nation Cameroon have qualified for the World Cup.
The country beat Tunisia 4-1 in the second-leg of their play-off, after the first tie ended in a 0-0 stalemate and Eto’o will almost certainly be part of the squad travelling to Brazil.
The 32-year-old is regarded as perhaps the best player ever to have put on the shirt for the African nation, with the striker enjoying so much success at club level.
The Blues have taken to Twitter to congratulate Eto’o for the success of the Cameroonians – despite the fact the forward did not score in the match.
Congratulations to @setoo9 and his Cameroon side who have qualified for the World Cup in Brazil next year after a 4-1 win over Tunisia! #CFC

It will be the seventh time in the country’s history that they have played at the biggest international tournament in the world and the fourth time for Eto’o.
