Following transfer deadline day on Monday, Chelsea have now sent an amazing 20 players out on-loan for the 2014/15 season – essentially a squad for many sides.
There are a number of high profile names and highly regarded youngsters in that bunch and here fanatix picks out the best XI from them.
This team would probably fair well in the Premier League.
GK – Jamal Blackman
With Petr Cech staying at Stamford Bridge and Thibaut Courtois and Mark Schwarzer also on the books the chances of this 20-year-old getting any game time over the next 12 months were slim, so a move to Middlesbrough was probably best for all involved.
RB – Wallace
Signed for £4.4m this Brazilian endured a controversial spell with Inter Milan last term and has now been tagged as something of a trouble maker, so has been sent to the Blues’ feeder club Vitesse Arnhem.
CB – Kenneth Omeruo
Some may remember this youngster from his performances for Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he helped them keep two clean-sheets and progress to the last-16 and joins Blackman at Boro this campaign.
CB – Tomas Kalas
Jose Mourinho decided to keep this Czech Republic international at the club in 2013/14 after he set the side back £4.4m in 2010, but after only four appearances he has now been sent away to Cologne in the Bundesliga.
LB – Ryan Bertrand
At the age of 25-years-old there is probably little chance this left-back will ever make it at the Bridge now and after a spell with Aston Villa last season the Englishman is now at Southampton.
