Madrid block attempts made by Mourinho to sign Luca Modric, Sami Khedira and Diego Lopez.
Jose Mourinho has been told by former club Real Madrid that he will not be able to sign any former players when he takes over as new Chelsea manager this summer.
The London Evening Standard reports that the Portuguese Special One wants to bring in three Madrid stars with him to Stanford Bridge, including former Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric.
The other two players, enforcer Sami Khedira and goalkeeper Diego Lopez, are also wanted by the 50-year-old for his second stint in west London.
Mourinho had a fractious working relationship with many players in his La Liga squad but has always publicly defender Modric, who has faced criticism after arriving from White Hart Lane in a £27m deal last summer.
Lopez, meanwhile, was installed as number one by Mourinho despite the presence of legendary Spain international captain Iker Casillas.
Mourinho has one more game in charge for the La Liga runners-up against Osasuna, before he is expected to announce his return to Chelsea early next week.
