Branislav Ivanovic, Cesar Azpilicueta, Fillipe Luis, Patrick van Aanholt
Azpilicueta can play on either flank, but with Ashley Cole leaving and Ryan Bertrand to depart – the Blues will likely start the season with three senior fullbacks competing for two spots. Filipe Luis is expected to sign for £20m shortly – and will compete with Spanish fullback Azpilicueta for a starting spot on the left. Azpilicueta is equally comfortable on the right though, and could similarly challenge Ivanovic for this position. Wallace is leaving on loan, while van Aanholt could provide competition for places after impressing at Vitesse last season.
