Jose Mourinho is expected to rotate his ultra talented squad for the trip north this evening.
Here’s how we reckon Jose Mourinho will rotate his Chelsea side this evening against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup quarter-final at Stadium of Light:
GK) Mark Schwarzer
The veteran Australian keeper should get another chance to impress in the League Cup, with no.1 Petr Cech set to be rested again. Schwarzer is a solid backup stopper though, and isn’t likely to let anyone down this evening.

DR) Cesar Azpilicueta
With Branislav Ivanovic out suspended, Azpilicueta will move from left-back into his favoured position on the right of a back four. The Spaniard has excelled since winning a place in Jose Mourinho’s first team, and has actually kept Ashley Cole out of the side in recent weeks.
DC) David Luiz
With Gary Cahill injured, the Brazilian centre-back will continue alongside John Terry at the back. With the Blues linked to Andrea Ranocchia in January, Luiz’s place in the Chelsea first team could come under increasingly threat in the coming months.
DC) John Terry
The club captain will continue at the back, following impressive recent form. With Ivanovic and Cahill out, Terry’s role as leader of the back four will be even more amplified, and he should be able to deal with Sunderland’s limited attacking options.
DL) Ashley Cole
With Ivanovic suspended, the Englishman will return to his favoured left-back position, having only made 12 appearances in all competitions this season.
