Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni thinks he has an all-round good team going into the sixth edition of the IPL.
Captain MS Dhoni is positive about the squad at his disposal at Chennai Super Kings and is upbeat about their prospects of winning the 2013 IPL.
Dhoni believes that his team have a strong core and they have every chance of lifting the IPL trophy for a record third time.
“We have got cricketers that cover up all the aspects so there is a good bunch of players to look up to,” Dhoni was quoted in the Times of India.
“It’s a settled line-up.”
The Super Kings have won the IPL twice (2010 and 2011) in the five years since it was created and were runners-up last year to Kolkata Knight Riders.
The most successful team in IPL history will start their 2013 campaign on Saturday against Mumbai Indians.
Dhoni makes up an impressive batting line-up that includes India opener Murali Vijay, Aussie legend Mike Hussey and short over specialist Suresh Raina.
Chennai also have all-rounder Albie Morkel at their disposal in a side that are tipped for great things in the sixth version of the IPL.
There has already been some controversy surrounding the side however, with other franchises suggesting the Super Kings have an unfair advantage going into the competition.
This is because Sri Lankan players have been banned from playing in Chennai after trouble between Tamil Nadu groups and Sri Lanka nationals.
Therefore key Sri Lankan players from other teams, such as Delhi Daredevils and SunRisers Hyderabad captains Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, will not be able to play away matches against the Super Kings.
