Chennai started poorly with a wicket maiden for Mitchell Starc in the first over. The bowler with a full delivery, catching Starc out at his off-stump.
Chennai Super Kings 34/2 – McCullum 20 (c Abdulla b Wiese)
McCullum looked to be getting into his groove but got too greedy. After a sensational four he was gone next ball, trying to dispatch a ball over mid-wicket that went straight to Iqbal in the deep.
Chennai Super Kings 98/3 – du Plessis 24 (b H Patel)
A key wicket for Chennai fell in the 15th over when Patel managed to force du Pleases into dragging his shot onto his stumps.
Chennai Super Kings 101/4 – Raina 52 (lbw H Patel)
And Raina was walking just two balls later in a mammoth over from Patel. Both set batsmen for Bangalore were dismissed as Raina, cramped for space, was trapped in front for lbw.
Chennai Super Kings 123/5 – Jadeja 3 (c Kohli b Chahal)
The wickets tumbled late ones Jadeja looked to go big towards the end over mid-wickets but was picked out by Kohli.
