The Baltimore Sun reported that McPhee will be signing with the Bears after a four-year career with the Ravens which saw him emerge as a top notch interior pass rusher in 2014.
A 5th-round pick by the Ravens in the 2011 NFL draft, McPhee only ever played in spot duty for the Ravens, getting only six starts in his 60 games played. But he also performed admirably in the role, notching up 17.0 career sacks and 3 forced fumbles, including an impressive 7.5 sack season this past year.
However, the amount of money McPhee will be getting on his contract is significantly less than the reported $8-$10 million per year he was seeking according to ProFootballTalk.com back in February.
McPhee will most likely replace Bears starting DT Stephen Paea, who is set to become a free agent on Tuesday but already has offers from other teams.
