Eagles’ QB Nick Foles struggled in his first preseason action as Philadelphia dropped the first exhibition game of 2014 to the Bears.
The Chicago Bears defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 34-28 in Friday’s preseason game.
After throwing only two interceptions in over 300 pass attempts in 2013, Eagles QB Nick Foles matched that number after just nine throws. His sixth and final completion of the day was to WR Jeremy Maclin, who is back in the starting lineup after missing the entire 2013 season due to an ACL tear. LeSean McCoy had 1 rush for no yards and a reception for 8 yards. The leading rusher on the day was Matthew Tucker with 8 rushes for 40 yards and 2 TDs
Backup QB Mark Sanchez, formerly a 5th overall pick for the Jets, made his debut with the Eagles as well. He finished the day with 79 passing yards and a 93.3 passer rating.
The Bears had three different QBs throw a TD pass: Jay Cutler to Zach Miller, Jordan Palmer to Miller, and Jimmy Clausen to both Chris Williams and Michael Spurlock. Starting RB Matt Forte had only 3 carries for negative-5 yards.
