The Chicago Bears are scheduled to face the San Francisco 49ers in their Week 2 game, but their offense may have an even harder time against the 49ers defense.
Starting wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are both nursing injuries. Marshall is nursing an ankle injury while Jeffery is healing from a hamstring injury.
This may be dangerous for the Bears since reserve Josh Morgan is already doubtful to play, and Santonio Holmes is the only other receiver left on the roster. They may be forced to make roster moves to fill a void.
Marshall and Jeffery are both questionable to play, so the Bears may luck out. However, they are also dealing with injuries to two of their offensive linemen.
Left guard Matt Slauson and center Roberto Garza will not play on Sunday night since they are suffering high ankle sprains.
The Bears will be facing the 49ers on the road, and the 49ers have proven they can still function as a top defense without linebackers NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith.
