Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is one of the most popular players in the game amongst his peers and the fans, and so the reaction to his injury has been widespread.

The Bulls announced the news that he would require knee surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee on Tuesday night, and it came as a shock given his extended play and return to form this season.
Rose has been plagued by knee issues over the last three years and has already had surgery on each knee due to ACL and MCL tears, and so his future in the game has naturally been questioned given his vulnerability to being injured which comes in part due to his style of play.
However, after seemingly making a full recovery, looking strong and producing explosive performances that he used to prior to his injury woes, his latest setback comes as a real blow to the Bulls, Chicago, the NBA and Rose himself.
