Torres has recently played for Major League Soccer squad Chivas USA and Liga MX club Guadalajara.
Although he is at Chivas on loan, Torres will soon join the Houston Dynamo after the upcoming MLS transfer window approaches.
His future in football may take a major hit though if he is discovered to be guilty of sexual abuse and misconduct, which allegedly took place a day after Chivas lost the Liga MX final against Puebla.
The incident in question is reported to have taken place at a motel party in Guadalajara.
The 22-year-old striker insists that he is innocent and is receiving support from his teammate, Nestor de la Torre.
“El Cubo Erick Torres, like all the players, has the support of the institution on and off the field,” de la Torre said to ESPN FC.
Torres has promised that he will cooperate with the investigation.
