And he used the opportunity to call for a rematch with Billy Joe Saunders…
Chris Eubank Jr has stopped Dmitry Chudinov in the final round of their O2 Arena contest to win the interim World Boxing Assosciation interim middleweight title.
The 25-year-old launched a sustained attack on Chudinov from the first bell and cut the Russian’s left eye.
However, despite round after round of severe punishment from Eubank Jr, Chudinov remained on his feet until the match was stopped by Swedish referee Michael Hook with 51 seconds remaining in the 12th and final round.
The win sees Eubank Jr. move to 19-1 and after the match he called for a rematch with Billy Joe Saunders.

“Hats off to Chudonov,” Eubank Jr told BoxNation, via ESPN.
“I have never hit somebody so many times and the guy hasn’t gone down. I had to stop beating him up in the 12th and say that he’s a hell of a fighter. An incredible chin.
“This result is redemption and I’m back. And I want that rematch, Billy Joe Saunders. I’m coming for you. I know what Billy is about, and the boxing public know that I’m a league above him. I now know I can go 12 rounds and turn up in the 12th.
“I’m a complete fighter and I’m ready for redemption. I went in there to box the guy and show my skills, so I knew boxing wouldn’t be enough and I just have to give him punches. I’ll happily fight him again – he deserves it.”
