Chris Eubank Jr makes his return to the ring after his tight loss to Billy Joe Saunders last year, and he faces a tough challenge in the form of Dmitry Chudinov.
Eubank Jr (18-1, 13 KOs) was the underdog heading into the Saunders fight given his lack of experience at a high level. However, he proved his ability after going the distance with his rival and is already eyeing a rematch to avenge his loss.
Before he reaches that stage, he will be looking to win the WBA interim middleweight title which is currently held by Chudinov, who arrives in London with a 14-0-2 record with nine knockouts.
The unbeaten 28-year-old isn’t someone to look past, but given Eubank’s hand speed and power, he should have too much for the Russian to cope with.
Chudinov has a solid defense and likes to put pressure on his opponents, but with a tendency to throw wide punches he will likely leave himself open to being picked off and if Eubank lands clean, then it may well be an early night for the visitor.
Nevertheless, Eubank’s confidence can sometimes be interpreted as arrogance, and if he takes his opponent lightly he will leave himself open to the possibility of a shock defeat.
Having made bold claims that he wants middleweight king Gennady Golovkin at some point down the line, the youngster has much to prove as he looks to get back to winning ways with Eubank Sr watching on from his corner.
While Saunders and Golovkin may come in the years ahead, Eubank will stop Chudinov on Saturday night as the occasion coupled with those piercing power shots from the Brit will crack the Russian after five rounds.
Eubank Jr is scheduled to ring walk at 9 p.m.
