Arsenal have scored their first goal of the 2015-16 campaign courtesy of Chuba Akpom, who has notched the opener in Premier League Asia Trophy semi-final against a Singapore Select XI on 30 minutes.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger did not name his strongest starting XI, but, as the video below illustrates, there is still plenty of quality on the field.

Akpom originally set up Jack Wilshere with a clever stepover, but the England midfielder was denied by a slide tackle. However, that only diverted the ball back to Akpom, who smashed home with significant power.
Arsenal will face Everton in Saturday’s final if they win today. The Toffees beat Stoke City 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the other semi.
Until this year, Arsenal had never previously competed in the Premier League Asia Trophy.
The Gunners are heavy favourites to add their name to the tournament’s winners list, which currently includes Bolton Wanderers, Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, as well as Chelsea, who are two-time champions.
