The Cincinnati Bengals have decided to release running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis after seeing enough promise from rookie Jeremy Hill.
The Cincinnati Bengals have released running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who played a major role in their backfield. The running back known as “Law Firm” rushed for 756 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
However, the Bengals selected Jeremy Hill in the second round of this year’s draft. Hill has shined in the preseason for the Bengals, most recently rushing for 90 yards on 20 carries. He is expected to be a complementary back to starter Gio Bernard.
Green-Ellis may be able to find a job in a less crowded backfield though since he is only 29.
Here is a tweet from NFL Access confirming the release of the Bengals running back.
