Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green injured his toe in last week’s game, and it was expected he would miss the Bengals’ Week 3 game since they will have a bye in Week 4.
However, the Bengals are expected to possibly bring him back. Green was limited in practice on Thursday, but he caught a few passes.
This news is a huge relief for quarterback Andy Dalton, who will already have to deal without wide receiver Marvin Jones and tight end Tyler Eifert.
Green said that his foot does not feel sore on Friday, and he plans to dress for Sunday’s game if the lack of pain continues. However, the Bengals are playing the Tennessee Titans, so their offense should have no problem producing.
They will take advantage of an underwhelming Titans defensive line with running backs Gio Bernard and Jeremy Hill.
Green is easily the top weapon in the Bengals offense though, so the team may choose to play it safe and keep him on the bench while also giving him the bye week to rest.
