Rookie Johnny Manziel notably struggled after sitting on the bench behind Brian Hoyer, who was eventually benched after a string of bad games.
Manziel played so poorly in his starting debut that his critics came out with guns blazing, even calling him the worst quarterback of all time.
The Browns refuse to commit to a starter for the 2015 season, but they have hired former New England Patriots quarterback Kevin O’Connell as their new quarterback coach.
O’Connell played for the Patriots in 2008 after being drafted by them in the third round, and he was teammates with Brian Hoyer, who beat him out for the second-string job.
