Browns All-Pro receiver Josh Gordon is a key cog for the Browns in 2014. His availability may be the difference between success and failure for the QB – be it Hoyer or Johnny Football.
All-Pro WR Josh Gordon returned to Browns training camp for practice on Monday as his appeal hearing for his year-long suspension continues in New York City.
Gordon is currently facing a one-year suspension for failing a second drug test this past May. His first failed test resulted in a two-game suspension this past season. He is currently appealing the suspension with an arbitrator, but after a reported 10 hours on Friday, the embattled wide receiver had to continue the appeal process the following week.
Gordon led the league in receiving yards in 2013. He became the second player in NFL history to record back-to-back 200+ yard receiving games and the first player to do so in the regular season. He set receiving records for the Browns and was named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team.
Gordon was also arrested in July of a DUI, leading many current and former teammates to request help on Gordon’s behalf to help him get his life in order.
