Browns play-caller to push through the pain barrier in week three of the season.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weedon is not expected to have surgery on his sprained right thumb and is expected back in the side sooner than first expected.
Coach Rob Chudzinski said it was unlikely his starting play-caller will need to go under the knife and said it team doctors will keep a close eye on the injury so as to identify when he will be right to play again.
On Wednesday, Chudzinski named third-stringer Brian Hoyer the starter for Sunday in Minnesota, and said Weeden’s job was not guaranteed when he returned.
