No. 11 Notre Dame made a statement last week as they shut out the Michigan Wolverines, 31-0. This greatly helped them rise in the rankings.
Quarterback Everett Golson had another solid performance with 226 yards and three touchdowns, and the defense shined once again as it forced Devin Gardner to throw three interceptions.
The Fighting Irish have only allowed 8.5 points per game, and their match against Purdue should be no different. The Boilermakers are coming off a 38-17 loss to Central Michigan.
Quarterback Danny Etling struggled mightily as he was held to no touchdowns while throwing two interceptions, but he rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, so the Irish will have to account for him as a dual threat.
The Irish defense seems to be returning to the form it showed in 2012 when it went on an undefeated run to the BCS Championship Game, and they will have a seemingly easy time taking care of the Boilermakers.
However, they will need to be wary of any upset bids while still looking ahead to Stanford and Florida State.
Prediction: Notre Dame 34, Purdue 10
