Oregon Michigan State preview
No. 2 Oregon is coming off a statement victory over Michigan State, who was No. 7 at the time. The Ducks appeared to be upset-prone at their home field before scoring 28 unanswered points to win, 46-27.
Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for 318 yards and three touchdown passes on 17-of-28 passing, establishing himself as the clear Heisman frontrunner.
True freshman running back Royce Freeman ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns, both of which came in the fourth quarter.
The Ducks will face the Wyoming Cowboys at home on Saturday. The Cowboys have started 2-0 and shown promise on defense, but they will face their biggest test of the season after Michigan State let the Ducks score 46 points.
Their most recent victory came against Air Force by a score of 17-13. Quarterback Colby Kirkegaard threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-37 passing, and he threw the game-winning touchdown pass to J.D. Krill with 58 seconds remaining.
However, Kirkegaard will face a severe test from Oregon cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, who is arguably the best in the country at his position.
The Ducks should have no problem burying the Cowboys since they will be at home, and this will be their last game before they begin Pac-12 play.
Prediction: Oregon 52, Wyoming 17
