Key defender to wear black and white until 2016.
Collingwood has all-but secured defender Nathan Brown for the next three years in what has been a whirlwind start to the off-season for the Magpies.
The club is set to be a hive of activity this post-season with several big names on the market as club coming knocking as to their services.
Dale Thomas and Heath Shaw are two long-time Collingwood stalwarts who could find themselves wearing something other than black and white next season.
It is because of this uncertainty that the club has not officially announced the deal for Brown, despite recruiting manager Derek Hine confirming it is a done deal.
“Nathan Brown’s agreed to a three year deal, we just haven’t released that,” Hine said.
Reports suggest that the Magpies could lure GWS hardnut Taylor Adams for Shaw, while if Thomas walks as a restricted free agent Nathan Buckley’s side would receive a compensation draft pick.
Meanwhile, Sydney has delisted Alex Brown among four list changes following the retirements of Jude Bolton, Marty Mattner and Mitch Morton.
In other AFL player news, Essendon’s Alex Browne has penned a new one-year deal.
