Ashely Cole (Chelsea)
Long since regarded as one of the best left backs in the world, Cole’s place in this squad needs no justification and he is the only player included to have played for both sides. Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal both look solid players but Cole offers both attacking prowess and defensive solidarity – rare in modern day full backs.
