Kalas rose to prominence at Stamford Bridge last season on account of his fine performance in the 2-0 victory at Liverpool towards the end of the campaign, but he has otherwise found himself a long way from Jose Mourinho’s first team plans.
The Czech Republic international will link up with Stamford Bridge teammates Patrick Bamford and Kenneth Omeruo at the Riverside Stadium, with both having joined Mourinho’s former Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka in the North East.
