Oh Brendan. So much spent for so little return. For all of Liverpool’s transfer committees and clever club machinations, all they’ve managed this season, frankly, is to buy a Europa league spot for £112 million.
A club of this stature should be achieving more.
16) Newcastle United
£65.3m spent + 36 points = £1,813,889 per point
Pardew looked a defeated man in the early parts of the season as the jibes from fans against him but predominately owner Mike Ashley took their toll.
Now the same seems to be happening under John Carver and fans must be questioning whether they want to drop down to the Championship to help prune the weeds or stay in the top flight and allow them to flourish.
