Sussex
Captain: Ed Joyce
Coach: Mark Robinson
Sussex are always there or thereabouts in the league with three championships and four one-day trophies in the last 10 years.
Rory Hamilton-Brown has moved to the side after leaving Surrey following the death of best friend Tom Maynard and the batsman will be looking to make a fresh start with a good season.
The county travel to new boys Yorkshire for their opening match.
Warwickshire
Captain: Jim Troughton
Coach: Dougie Brown
Last season’s Division One champions will be looking to build on that success with another good domestic season.
The likes of England’s Chris Woakes and young sensation Tom Milnes as all-rounders in the side give Warwickshire every chance of back-to-back titles, as well as having arguably the best seam attack in county cricket.
The club will be wanting to get off to a winning start when they welcome Derbyshire to Edgbaston.
Yorkshire
Captain: Andrew Gale
Coach: Jason Gillespie
Second-place in Division Two last year saw Yorkshire rise back to the top tier of the County Championship this season after a two-year absence.
The recruitment of seamers Jack Brooks and Liam Plunkett should help the side, although recent in-house disputes between spinner Asid Rashid and captain Gale will do nothing for morale.
Yorkshire host Sussex in their first return to the big time.
