In traditional English fashion the weather played its part on day two of the new 2013 County Championship season.
Durham v Somerset

An exciting second day saw wickets tumble as no less than 18 batsmen were dismissed between Durham and Somerset.
After bowling the hosts out on day one the south west side started their innings on the second day, but Chris Rushworth took the attack to the visitors and finished with career best figures of 6-58.
By bowling Somerset out in less than 38 overs Durham had a healthy 118 run lead going into their second innings, but Peter Trego and Alfonso Thomas led the fightback and took three wickets apiece.
The hosts finished the day on 92-8 with the match wide open as they head into day three at 11.00 BST today.
Nottinghamshire v Middlesex

After resuming the day on 12-0 Middlesex openers Sam Robson (77) and Chris Rogers (50) put on a first wicket partnership of 106 before debutant Ajmal Shahzad trapped Rogers lbw.
With a subsequent quick fall of wickets for the visitors John Simpson came to the crease and provided an electric knock of 77 not-out, which included two sixes.
Luke Fletcher took best figures of 3-69 for Notts as Middlesex finished the day 19 runs ahead with four wickets in hand.
Day three in Nottingham will resume at 11.00 BST today.
