Overseas star Joe Burns is highly rated in Australia but it’s likely to be another difficult campaign for the side that finished seventh in 2012.
Sarwan will lead the side for the first time against Hampshire.
Northamptonshire

Northants had a disappointing campaign last time out and will be looking to improve after a promise from the hierarchy at the club to promote homegrown talent.
Alex Wakely will be wanting to build on his impressive season in 2012 whilst Aussie bowler Trent Copeland is a shrewd signing.
Northants will travel to Wales to play Glamorgan on Wednesday.
Worcestershire

Relegated as the bottom-placed side in Division One last year, Worcestershire will be competing with Lancashire to gain promotion at the first time of asking.
Batting was their main problem last season but by holding onto experienced players the county have a realistic chance of challenging for the Division Two title in 2013.
The club will travel to fellow relegated county Lancashire in their opening game.
