Hampshire v Leicestershire
Rose Bowl
Close of play: Hampshire 286-4
An eventual good day for Hampshire had begun with the worst of starts as the home side were reduced to 0-2 after being put into bat by Leicestershire.
Captain Jimmy Adams and fellow opener Michael Carberry both walked back to the pavilion with ducks before Australian George Bailey steadied the ship.
Bailey top-scored with 93 before being stumped by Ollie Freckingham, whilst James Vince (77) and Sean Ervine (57) both had half-century knocks.
The hosts will start day two with both batsmen still in the middle at 11.00 BST today.
Lancashire v Worcestershire
Old Trafford
Close of play: Worcestershire 227-6.
Moeen Ali top-scored for the visitors with 78 after they were put into bat by Lancashire on day one in Manchester.
In the absence of Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell, who had a stomach bug, Moeen took the game to the home side and was aided by Thilan Samaraweera (28) and a delayed Mitchell, who managed to play later in the day and score 36 not-out.
Red Rose bowlers Simon Kerrigan and Luke Proctor took two wickets apiece and there was also a brace for new boy Wayne White, as he made his first start since moving from Derbyshire.
Day two will begin at 11.00 BST today.
