The S.League’s bottom club believe they fair worse in games played during the week.
Courts Young Lions coach Aide Iskandar wants his side to be given more weekend fixtures by the S.League.
With four players unavailable due to either National Service issues or injuries the Young Lions struggled against leaders Tampines Rovers, also short staffed for the game at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday night.
Key defender Afiq Yunos was the most notable absentee, while Stanely Ng and Sheik Abdul Hadi were injured and M. Anumanthan leaving Aide to do a patch up job on his side that currently sits at the foot of the table and without a win in 19 matches.
However, 38-year-old former Singapore international is convinced their heavy mid-week schedule has played a significant part in their poor form due to not having enough players at hand.
“I’ve done some research and it seems we never get results on weekdays due, I think, to National Service issues a lot of the time and I do hope we can get more Friday, Saturday or Sunday games in future as that’s when we have gathered our only points so far, when we have more players to call upon,” he explained to the S.League official website.
