Peter Moores’ side have lost by large margins to both Australia and New Zealand so far, with both Southern hemisphere sides exposing the Three Lions’ brittle batting line up. It is now likely that they will bring in Hales for the out of form Gary Ballance in order to shore up the team.
It was surprising that the 26-year-old was not included in the side originally. He was given a run in the ODI side after impressing in Twenty20 matches, but was dropped after several poor performances.
