Manchester United have told Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo that he can forget about a return to the club unless he agrees to take a pay cut, the Metro reports.

The Portuguese megastar has been consistently linked with a return to his former club this summer with some reports even suggesting that he could make the switch as early as January.
But with reports saying the 29-year-old will demand £500,000-a-week to return to the Premier League outfit, some believe United will dismiss the deal unless Ronaldo agrees to a significant pay-cut.
Tha Man United board have apparently already set the £60m transfer fee aside to bing the Ballon d’Or holder back to the Premier League, but they are unwilling to sanction the £380,000 per week wages he collects in the Spanish capital.
