Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move to his former club in recent times, and the Red Devils are believed to be willing to make a summer move for the 30-year-old.
According to Metro, Ronaldo is becoming increasingly unsettled at the Bernabeu following a trophyless season under Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti.
It is believed a fee in the region of £71.5m could tempt the La Liga giants into selling its most prized asset, but United faces stiff competition to sign Ronaldo.
Metro’s report suggests that cashed-up Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain have already made an offer to Real Madrid for Ronaldo’s services, and it is understood that United would be unable to match PSG’s wage offer.
However, Ronaldo has a deep connection with the English giants thanks to his long and successful stint with the club between 2003 and 2009, and it would come as no surprise to see him back at Old Trafford.
