Though Sport is largely a pro-Barcelona paper, they have claimed that the Portuguese megastar is unhappy with the sacking of coach Carlo Ancelotti and the proposed impending arrival of Rafa Benitez as his replacement.
Ronaldo is known to enjoy a close relationship with the Italian tactician, and recently uploaded a picture to his Instagram page explicitly expressing his desire to continue working with him next season.
However, the sacking has left Ronaldo with the impression that the relationship between himself and club president is rapidly deteriorating and their previous comradeship has been down to convenience and little else.
Ronaldo is also said to be baffled by Perez’s continued unwavering support of Gareth Bale, highlighting that there could be an underlying tension between the two behind the scenes.
The 30-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is said to be actively looking for new offers, with both believing that Madrid would cash in on him now despite being under contract until 2018.
