Cronulla were impressive on their home turf against a lacklustre Newcastle. The Sharks raced to a 12-2 halftime lead and as the rain poured down they never looked like losing it.
Jack Bird continued his great form from round five with Cronulla’s first try. Bird finished off a flowing move from the Sharkies.
A few minutes later and the home team were at it again. This time it was Luke Lewis who got there first to a Valentine Holmes kick.
Cronulla were on a roll. Then Ben Barba added their third try after a lovely offload from Sosaia Feki.
Only the Sharks’ poor goal-kicking was keeping the Knights in the match. With 11 minutes left Akila Uate got Newcastle’s first try of the game.
But the relief was short-lived. Chris Heighington burrowed over and the game was all done and dusted.
Another win and another good performance for the Sharks.
