The Cronulla Sharks have confirmed its interest in Manly Sea Eagles star Daly Cherry-Evans.
Sharks chairman Damian Keogh says the club has met with Cherry-Evans a week after the Sea Eagles star visited the now-embattled Gold Coast Titans..
The half-back visited the Titans amid reports the Gold Coast-based club were offering a $3 million three-year deal to lure the Queensland State of Origin star.
But with the Titans now in the middle of a drugs crisis, the Sharks have moved to swoop on the 25-year-old.
“We’d love to have him at Cronulla but obviously a lot of other clubs would love to have him as well [and] Manly would love to keep him,” Keogh told Fox Sports.
Cherry-Evans’ manager Gavin Orr confirmed his client had met with the Sharks.
“We’ve come down to have a look around at the club and see what his thoughts are, they put a good proposal to us and it’s up to Daly to make a decision,” Orr is quoted as saying by AAP.
“He’s been impressed by the way Shane [Flanagan has] handled things and the way the club’s handled things.
“Hopefully [we will have a decision] by the end of the week.”
