Rookie fullback Jack Bird help the Sharks to their first win of 2015. The youngster bagged two tries and helped set one up with a kick.
The Roosters posted two tries late but the Sharks were deserved victors.
Bird’s first four-pointer was the result of great teamwork.
Then the outside back laid on a lovely kick for Valentine Holmes to score.
Michael Ennis and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck came together in an accidental clash of heads.
But Tuivasa-Sheck shook it off to score of the tries of the season from long distance.
Then Mitchell Ambusson crossed and the Sharks’ lead was cut to just two points. But there was still time for Bird to strike again.
The fullback stepped some defenders and claimed the final try of the match. The Roosters were sunk and Cronulla was finally back to winning ways.
