Arsenal held on for the win, despite Arteta’s second half dismissal..
Wojciech Szczesny: 8/10
Has been in great form this season but somewhat overlooked despite that, and made a truly world-class save to keep out an effort from Jedinak.
Bacary Sagna: 8/10
Very, very solid. A true warrior’s performance from the Frenchman.,
Per Mertesacker: 7/10
Made some timely interceptions, and commanded the Gunners’ back line well in the second half especially.
Laurent Koscielny: 6/10
Not as good as his defensive partner Mertesacker, Koscielny still played his role in helping Arsenal come away from Selhurst Park with a clean sheet.
Kieran Gibbs: 6/10
Surprisingly, didn’t pose too much of a threat down the left hand side.
Mikel Arteta: 6/10
Bagged a good penalty, but was perhaps unfairly sent off for a professional foul on former teammate Chamakh.
Mathieu Flamini: 5/10
Went off with a groin injury, which could be devastating to Arsenal’s title chances.
Aaron Ramsey: 7/10
Assisted Giroud’s goal superbly, and was back to his imperious best following a nervy midweek Champions League performance.
Santi Cazorla: 5/10
Looked very much like a player who’s just returned from injury. Looked sluggish, and wasn’t at his creative best by any means.
Mesut Ozil: 7/10
The German probably should have scored, but looked cool and composed in possession, and was Arsenal’s most exciting player going forward.
Olivier Giroud: 7/10
Worked hard all afternoon, and got the goal he deserved with a nice header late on.
